The main Dharma Drum University campus is located in Jinshan, Taipei. Traditionally known as Jinbaoli,Jinshan, is a rural township of 15small villages on the coast of northern Taipei, Taiwan. Nestled in the mountains and overlooking the nearby ocean, Jinshan covers an area of 49 square kilometers with a population of about 22,000 residents. The local education system includes fourelementary schoolsand onehigh school.

Adjacent to Yanminshan National Park , Wanli , and Danshi, Jinshan is famous for tourism. Old towns in Jinshan include Juifang, Houtong, Sijiaoting, Jioufen, Jinguashi, etc. Because of their past developments, these places are rich with historic and cultural resources.

With its long history in philanthropy, Dharma Drum Mountain is giving back to the communities with gratitude and love. It established the Dharma Drum Mountain Community University to provide education and information for local residents. It published its “Goldminers’ Gazette,” a quarterly magazine to record and report the development of the local area. It also established the North Coastal Care House to provide training in life education for teachers and to arrange for them to work in the northern coastal area. It also provides scholarships for underprivileged students.
