Master Sheng Yen calls together the monastics in charge, Executive Advisor Liu An-Chi, staff members of the preparatory office, and so on, and explains that “Protecting the Spiritual Environment” has been established as the College’s core value among the educational principles; and that in addition to emphasizing the impartment of knowledge, it highly values the cultivation of character and virtue. The meeting also establishes the future interactive relationship between the College and the Sangha: the president shall have full powers to handle the administrative affairs and is responsible to the board of directors, and the Sangha shall give the College its full support
