The Third International Conference on Contemporary Chinese Buddhism & Thoughts of Master Sheng Yen
In honoring the late Master Sheng Yen’s Life work in Buddhist studies and socially engaged Buddhism, the Sheng Yen Education Foundation is hosting a two part conference in 2010. The conference topic is: “TheSignificance of Master Sheng Yen’s Teachings for the Present Age” with four sub-themes on the modern construction of Chinese Buddhism.
Part one of the conference, hosted by the Dharma Drum sangha, is an organizational discussion about Master Sheng Yen’s Buddhist teachings and socially engaged work. Part two of the conference, geared towards the academic community, is a symposium on Master Sheng Yen’s thought and the general modern construction of Chinese Buddhism.
Ph.D. candidates are encouraged to submit paper proposals. Below are the details:
